Mallee District Aboriginal Services is one of Victoria’s largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and who now seek a motivated Risk Coordinator to join our Quality and Governance team.

Reporting to the Quality & Governance Manager, this is a unique opportunity to support our organisation organisation’s risk management, child safety, and incident reporting processes. The role ensures that strategic and operational risk registers are maintained, the Risk Management Framework remains fit for purpose, and a strong culture of risk awareness and child safety is embedded across the organisation.

Working closely with the Client Incident Management System (CIMS) team, the Risk Coordinator will support case reviews, investigations, and staff queries regarding incident reporting. The role will also be a key resource in high-risk projects and will drive risk culture improvement, including the design and delivery of staff training.

This is a permanent, full time position based at our Mildura office location.

Key Selection Criteria

Demonstrated ability to apply risk as a decision-making and prioritisation too.

Demonstrated ability to assess risks, analyse trends, and recommend practical strategies for mitigation.

Proven ability to work flexibly across projects and priorities, building effective relationships across various teams and stakeholders.

Understanding of Child Safe Standards, incident reporting, and relevant legislative frameworks.

Ability to take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve service with the annual audit process including the draft of the financial statements and related notes.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification or demonstrated experience in risk management, compliance, or governance within a complex organisation.

Other Screening Requirements:

Valid Drivers License that allows you to drive in Australia.

Victorian Employee Working with Children Check card.

National Police Check.
