The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Essential Services Engineer to join our Sydney team. This role focuses on the inspection, assessment, and certification of Annual Fire Safety Statements (AFSS) and other essential safety measures for commercial, industrial, and residential properties.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the inspection, testing and certification of mechanical essential fire safety measures in accordance with NSW regulations.

Prepare and sign off Essential Services measures on Annual Fire Safety Statements (AFSS).

Conduct audits, performance testing, and compliance reporting for fire and essential services.

Provide technical advice and recommendations to clients to maintain compliance.

Create quotations for works associated with repairs.

Liaise with building owners, facility managers, councils, and relevant authorities.

Develop new business through, but not limited to, networking and tendering whilst maintaining strong relationships with existing customers.

Stay up to date with NSW building regulations, codes, and Australian Standards.

What We’re Looking For

FPA Accreditation as a Competent Safety Fire Practitioner (Assessment) for all mechanical measures is desirable, if not held a commitment to obtained them is required.

Minimum 5 Years’ Experience in the services industry completing Mechanical Services AFSS Testing or Mechanical Services Commissioning and Air Balancing (essential).

Qualifications in Fire Safety Engineering, Building Services, or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) (preferred).

In-depth knowledge of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Regulation 2000 (NSW) and relevant Australian Standards (essential).

Previous experience in preparing and certifying AFSS documentation (essential).

Strong communication and client service skills.

High attention to detail and a commitment to safety and compliance.

Current NSW Driver’s Licence (essential).
