Overview of role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Support Officer to join our team. In this role, you will provide vital administrative and operational support to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Acting as the key back-up to the Payroll Coordinator, you will help maintain compliance with legislation, internal policies, and enterprise agreement conditions while delivering outstanding service to employees and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
As our Payroll Support Officer, you’ll be accountable for:
Assisting with end-to-end payroll processing, including liaising with the external provider.
Maintaining accurate payroll records, ensure data integrity, and manage compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
Responding to employee queries regarding pay, leave, deductions, and supporting payroll-related onboarding/offboarding activities.
Supporting payroll reconciliations, reporting, and audits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Contributing to payroll process improvements and providing general administrative support to the People & Capability team.
About you:
Demonstrated experience in payroll administration and a familiarity with payroll systems (e.g.: SAP, ADP, Aurion etc) and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
Understanding of enterprise agreements or awards, and employment legislation.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively support employees and stakeholders.

Salary:
The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2021 Band 2 $62,475 - $72,897 + Superannuation salary range will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.

Coliban Water was established on July 1, 1992 under the Water Act 1989 as a Regional Urban Water Authority.
Coliban Region Water Authority became the Coliban Region Water Corporation on July 1, 2007.
The Corporation is responsible to the Minister for Water, the Hon Lisa Neville MP, and our shareholder is the Victorian Government.
We are one of the larger Victorian Regional urban water corporations.
We manage, maintain and operate 35 reservoirs and water storage basins across North-Central Victoria and provide water and wastewater services to rural and urban customers across an area of 16,550 sqkm.
