Murdoch University's Counselling Program, delivered through the School of Allied Health, offers three postgraduate qualifications: the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Counselling.
As part of our academic team, you'll contribute to a dynamic learning environment that integrates evidence-based practice with real-world experience. Our program is grounded in person-centred therapy and embraces contemporary approaches to counselling.
Your New Role!
As a Lecturer in Counselling, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality education, research, and service within the School of Allied Health. This includes teaching, clinical supervision, research, and active participation in university and professional activities.
Your Key responsibilities will include -
- Deliver engaging lectures and clinical sessions; supervise research and placements; develop innovative learning materials.
- Conduct independent research; publish scholarly work; contribute to the discipline and profession.
- Participate in academic planning and committees; support program development; contribute to university initiatives.

This Continuous| Full Time (37.5 hours per week) based at our South Street, Murdoch Campus attracts a remuneration of $111,026 - $131,518 (pro rata) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

What you'll bring to the role:
- A master's degree in counselling or in a closely related discipline
- Eligible for registration with PACFA or ACA and able to provide clinical supervision under their guidelines.
- Minimum 5 years' clinical experience, ideally with groups, children and families, plus teaching/training.
- Knowledge of modern curriculum and teaching methods.
- Track record of independent research and publications.
