Workforce International are seeking experienced Backhoe Operators for civil works in the Newcastle and Hunter regions. Whilst we welcome experienced backhoe operators, this role is also open to front end loader operators that have considered learning to operate a backhoe but have never had the opportunity! You will be supported to learn all aspects of backhoe operation on civil sites.

Suitable employees have the opportunity to be offered permanent employment after qualifying period.

$40 - $55/hour + $21.94 daily travel allowance + Super

Newcastle area

Regular overtime opportunities available

Casual position offering 5-6 days per week

Immediate start available for the right person

Currently 6 months' work available with potential for extension.

About the Role

Operate a backhoe to dig foundations and trenches, excavate, and transport materials.

Conduct pre-starts, basic machine maintenance, reporting defects.

Adhere to all workplace health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.

Collaborate with the wider construction team to ensure projects remain on track.

General labouring duties as required.

A successful candidate will:

Hold an OHS White Card

Possess demonstrable experience in the operation of backhoes OR front end loaders & a willingness to learn to operate a backhoe.

Be physically fit and able to pass a functional assessment including drug & alcohol screening.

Possess demonstrable labouring experience with the willingness to labour as required.

Show strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety

Hold valid drivers license and reliable transport
