Diploma of Nursing
2 Year Fixed Term Full-Time, 76 hours per fortnight
Three positions available – two in Yarriambiack Lodge, Warracknabeal and one in Hopetoun Aged Care, Hopetoun
Latitude Recruitment is proud to partner with Rural Northwest Health to present an exciting pathway for aspiring nurses. This opportunity allows individuals to complete a Diploma of Nursing through a blended model - attending Federation TAFE in Horsham three days per week and gaining hands-on experience in a residential aged care facility two days per week.
The program is set to commence in February 2026 and run through to January 2028.
Diploma of Nursing is the nationally accredited qualification required for initial registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as an Enrolled Nurse.
Qualifications & Experience
Eligible for enrolment in the Federation TAFE Diploma of Nursing course, including achievement of a minimum Level 4 in each component of Language, Literacy, & Numeracy testing (completed on TAFE enrolment process)
Be eligible for Federal Government Apprenticeship Incentive Program
Previous experience working in a healthcare setting advantageous
Aged 17 years and older
Knowledge and Skills
Basic to intermediate computer and keyboard skills
Ability to effectively manage time and resources to complete course requirements within require timeframes
Blended delivery of education content requires reliable computer and internet access to participate online and complete assessments.
Working environment
Employed five days per week including:
Three days per week (9.00am to 3.30pm within Monday-Friday) attending classes at the Horsham Campus of Federation TAFE to learn the theoretical component of the course.
Two days per week (8-hour AM and PM shifts) in a Rural Northwest Health residential aged care facility applying skills and knowledge in practice under the supervision of registered nurses.
Clinical placement blocks require travel to Ballarat (completed on paid time).
