About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Graduate Registered Nurse to undertake a 12-month position within the Mental Health Services, with placements primarily in the Community setting. This role offers a fantastic chance to develop a broad range of skills essential for working in a specialist mental health environment.
The program runs for 12 months and is a full-time (80 hours per fortnight) supernumerary position. The successful applicant will be supported by experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses and will benefit from regular Professional Development sessions and Clinical Supervision to foster the development of specialist mental health nursing skills.
This position enables the successful applicant to build expertise in delivering a wide range of mental health assessments and interventions to consumers and their families within a mental health framework.
Placements in the Community setting will provide hands-on experience in conducting various assessments and delivering therapeutic interventions, with a strong focus on recovery-oriented practice, trauma-informed care, and family inclusiveness.

- Salary Range: $72,404.80 - $96,808.40 pro rata, plus superannuation
What you bring
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, essential for effective team collaboration
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, contemporary frameworks, and recovery-oriented mental health practices
- Enrolment in, or a commitment to pursue, postgraduate studies in Specialist Mental Health Nursing (preferred)
