About the Opportunity

Bawinanga Homelands Aboriginal Corporation is in an exciting new chapter under fresh leadership. We are now looking for an experienced People and Culture Manager who wants to make the role their own, someone ready to put strong foundations in place, improve systems and processes, and bring new ideas to life.

As part of our senior leadership team, you will report directly to the General Manager and be instrumental in leading HR initiatives across BHAC.

This isn’t a role where you’ll just keep things ticking over. It’s a chance to:

- Establish modern HR frameworks, policies, and procedures
- Boost morale and shift culture toward positivity, humour, and collaboration
- Implement new systems that streamline and strengthen P&C practices; and
- Build performance management structures that support growth and fairness

You'll play a key role in EBA negotiations, and work closely with managers to resolve issues constructively and with confidence. It will also be important to keep up to date on current employment legislation as the 'go-to' for senior leaders.

About You

We’re seeking an HR professional who is knowledgeable, collaborative, practical, and excited by the idea of building something meaningful. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

Degree in Human Resources or a related field

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a P&C Manager role, with a focus as a highly motivated leader and achiever

Experience in creating or redefining a HR framework, including policy and process, educating and influencing management, and ensuring a collaborative culture across the business.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, leading by example

Proficiency in HR software and systems, with strong analytic and reporting capabilities

In-depth knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and regulations in Australia

A valid driver's licence

Desirable qualifications include:

Experience working within an Aboriginal organisation or similar is highly valued

Previous experience managing a HR team

Experience using human resources management software such as ELMO

Additionally, the successful applicant will need to obtain:

Satisfactory National Police Check clearance

About the Benefits

When you join BHAC, you will receive a competitive salary of $130,000 - $160,000, commensurate with your experience, along with 12% superannuation and a host of great benefits, including:

Salary Packaging up to $18,550

Up to $3k relocation assistance provided
