Manager – CPA-Qualified (or Equivalent CA)

Our client is seeking a CPA or CA-qualified professional to join an established Rockhampton accounting firm. This position offers a significant leadership opportunity with a defined pathway to practice management and, for the right candidate, future equity participation or buy-in.

We are looking for an experienced and driven professional who can take ownership of a client portfolio, provide outstanding service, and guide our team to success.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a portfolio of clients, delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality outcomes.

Lead, coach, and mentor team members to achieve individual and collective goals.

Oversee workflow, budgets, invoicing, and reporting.

Develop tailored solutions and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients.

Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and firm standards.

Identify and resolve issues promptly while managing risk and deadlines.

Drive productivity, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.

Requirements

What our client is looking for:

CPA-qualified (or equivalent CA).

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

5+ years’ experience in a comparable accounting or finance role.

In-depth knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax compliance requirements.

Xero experience is preferred, but not essential.

Proven management and leadership experience in professional practice.

Strong technical knowledge with the ability to devise solutions for clients.

Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.

Highly organised, self-motivated, and committed to professional growth.

Ambition to step into a broader practice management role and build a long-term career.
