The Opportunity
Are you a practical, hands-on trainer who commands respect in a workshop or on a mine site? Are you skilled in not just delivering training, but also in developing the systems that support it?
We are representing a leading mining services contractor, currently seeking a credible and engaging Training Advisor to support a major maintenance team on a key Pilbara project.
This is a fantastic opportunity on a sought-after 8/6 roster, where your deep understanding of mining maintenance environments and your ability to analyse and improve training systems will be crucial.
What You Will Own & Drive
- Deliver high-quality, practical training and conduct Verifications of Competency (VOCs) for the site's maintenance and shutdown teams.
- Conduct a thorough Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and gap analysis of the site training matrix to identify and prioritise development opportunities.
- Develop, review, and continuously improve training documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and assessment tools.
- Deliver nationally recognised training units (e.g., Working at Heights, Confined Space) in partnership with the client's RTO.
- Mentor and coach apprentices and experienced tradespeople, building their technical skills and reinforcing a strong safety culture.
Who We're Looking For
- A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122) is essential.
- Proven, hands-on experience as a Trainer in a mining maintenance, shutdown, or heavy industrial workshop environment is highly desirable. Your credibility comes from your operational background.
- You hold the necessary competencies and vocational experience (e.g., in high-risk work) to be registered through an RTO to deliver nationally recognised training.
- Demonstrated experience conducting Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and developing or improving training documentation.
- An exceptional communicator and natural mentor who can connect with and earn the respect of apprentices, tradespeople, and supervisors alike.
What's on Offer
- Excellent Hourly Rate: A top-tier rate of $80 - $90 per hour + Superannuation.
- Sought-After Roster: A family-friendly, even-time 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.
- Initial Contract with Strong Potential: An initial 2-3 month contract with a strong likelihood of becoming ongoing for a high performer.
- A Key Strategic Role: This is more than a delivery role; you'll have the opportunity to analyse and shape the site's entire training framework.
- Immediate Start: This role is available for an immediate start for the right candidate.
