About the role

We are seeking an experienced Building Designer to join our team at Neater Constructions (Q) Pty Ltd' in Cairns, Queensland. As a fulltime Building Designer, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of residential and commercial building projects, contributing to the strategic vision and growth of our business.

What you'll be doing

Prepare detailed architectural drawings and plans for building projects in compliance with relevant building codes and regulations

Collaborate with clients, construction teams, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop innovative design solutions

Conduct site inspections and surveys to gather necessary information for design development

Obtain necessary approvals and permits from local authorities

Provide technical advice and support during the construction phase

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in architectural design

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in Architecture, Building Design, or a related field

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Building Designer, preferably in the residential and commercial construction industry

Proficient in using computer-aided design (Revit) software or secondary, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp.

Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and standards applicable to the design and construction industry

Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and project management skills

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with clients, construction teams, and other stakeholders
