About the role
Yarra Ranges Council is seeking and community-minded Project Officer to lead the delivery of the VicRoads L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program across our region.
The L2P Program is a community-based initiative that supports learner drivers under 21 years of age who lack access to a supervising driver or vehicle. Through volunteer mentoring, the program helps young people gain the driving experience required to apply for their probationary licence, opening doors to independence, employment, and opportunity.
This is a part-time temporary position (parental leave backfill) (22.8 hours per week) until 30 June 2026.
This is a Band 5 role with an hourly rate between $40.73 and $45.25 per hour, plus superannuation.
Benefits of working with us:
Support work-life balance with hybrid working arrangements.
Generous leave options such as volunteer leave, family planning, study assistance and menstrual and menopause leave.
Opportunities for professional development to grow your skills and experience.
Experience and skills we’re looking for
Experience working with volunteers and young people. A professional who knows how to bring people on board, keep them motivated, and build a strong, reliable team of volunteers.
The ability to build and maintain strong partnerships and develop new relationships across sectors to improve the reach of the program.
Diploma/degree in Volunteer or Project Management, similar qualifications or 2 plus years of experience working with volunteers will also be considered.
Great time management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with diverse customers.
If you have some but not all these skills or experience, we still encourage you to apply. Especially if you have the right attitude and willingness to learn.
