About us Grand Pacific Health (GPH) is a for-purpose community-based organisation. GPH provides high quality health services to assist people in the management of their physical and mental health. GPH’s mission is to provide equitable heath care with an emphasis on helping vulnerable and at risk of disadvantage populations as well as regional communities. GPH employs over 400 staff including many qualified health and other professionals including peer workers and community workers. GPH operations cover a large regional geographical footprint in NSW and ACT. About the position As an Aboriginal Health Worker, you will work collaboratively as part of the Aboriginal Health Team as well as program partners to support the delivery of health services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the Bega region, through improving access to health care, health screening, chronic disease management and health promotion. You will work as part of a team actively supporting the community to promote community engagement, coordinate events, health promotion activities, health appointments and clinics that contribute to support the wellbeing of the individual and community. Based in Bega, this is a part-time (3-4 days per week), fixed-term opportunity until 30 June 2027 with the possibility of extension. Why work for us?

What you’ll need
- Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be an active member within the Aboriginal communities of the Bega Valley and surrounding areas.
- Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or health related discipline or willingness to enrol and work towards
- Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal people and their health and ability to effectively engage, and communicate sensitively, with Aboriginal people to address their health needs
- Experience in developing and maintaining successful partnerships with Aboriginal organisations and communities
