Who you are
Are you ready to shape the future of biomedical education and research? The University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) is seeking a dynamic and experienced academic to join our team as a Senior Lecturer in Microbiology and Immunology.
What you'll do
As a Senior Lecturer, you will play a key role in supporting the Medical Laboratory Sciences program and broader biomedical science initiative by being a driving force in delivering innovative, student-focused education and contributing to impactful research. As part of the role, you will design and teach courses that integrate cutting-edge scientific knowledge with real-world relevance, particularly in Microbiology and Immunology. Further, you will supervise Honours and postgraduate students and foster collaborative research partnerships. Your role will also involve contributing to the vibrant academic culture at UniSQ through service, leadership, and engagement with industry and the wider community—making a meaningful difference both inside and outside the classroom.
What will help you succeed
- A doctoral qualification in Microbiology, Immunology, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and curriculum development at tertiary level.
- A strong research track record, including publications and grant success.
- Experience in supervising research students.
- Ability to contribute to academic leadership and mentoring within the School.

Term: Full-time, continuing appointment (37.5 hours/week)
Salary: Total remuneration range of $162,350 to $186,598 pa (includes salary range of $136,917 to $157,367 pa, employer superannuation contributions of 17% salary and annual leave loading)
Closes: Sunday, 12 October 2025 @ 11:30 pm (AEST)
Note that commencement in this role will be from 19 January 2026
