Network and Gateway Senior Solutions Architect

We are seeking an experienced Network and Gateway Senior Solutions Architect to design, implement, and maintain our client’s enterprise network infrastructure. This role will play a pivotal part in building secure, scalable, and high-performance network solutions to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement enterprise-level network infrastructure and architecture.

Develop technical roadmaps and network strategies aligned with business objectives.

Evaluate and recommend networking solutions (WAN/LAN, VPN, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, cloud networking).

Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration, security, and performance.

Design and enforce network security standards including firewalls, segmentation, and NAC.

Provide technical leadership during incident response and troubleshooting.

Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and technical standards.

Stay current with emerging technologies and trends, recommending improvements.

Ensure disaster recovery and high availability plans are in place and tested.

Manage vendor and service provider relationships, including procurement and contracts.

About You

You are an accomplished Network and Gateway Senior Solutions Architect with a proven track record in designing and delivering enterprise-level solutions. You thrive in complex environments, can communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and are comfortable taking ownership of strategy and implementation.

Technical Skills & Experience

10+ years’ experience in network engineering or architecture roles.

Strong background in enterprise networking (routing, switching, WAN, MPLS, BGP, OSPF).

Proven expertise with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar technologies.

Hands-on experience with SD-WAN, cloud networking (Azure/AWS), and hybrid networks.

Knowledge of network automation (highly regarded).

Strong understanding of security protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, NAC.

Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Current AGSVA security clearance – Baseline essential, NV1 desirable

Essential Criteria

Applicants must provide a response (max 3000 characters per criteria) addressing the following:

Proven ability to design secure, scalable, and highly available network infrastructure across multi-site or hybrid cloud environments.

Strong understanding of network security best practices, including firewalls, segmentation, VPNs, NAC, Zero Trust, and alignment with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, ASD Essential Eight).

Demonstrated capability to investigate and resolve operational and security-related issues, with reporting and improvement recommendations.

Ability to diagnose complex networking issues, perform root cause analysis, and deliver long-term solutions. Demonstrated experience in performance optimization and high availability planning.

Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Experience leading discussions with vendors, executives, and cross-functional teams to align strategy with business goals.

Relevant qualifications and certifications.

Desirable Criteria

Broad understanding of industry and government directions, emerging technologies, and how they can be applied to solve business challenges.
