About the Role

An exciting opportunity awaits dual-qualified Registered Nurses and Midwives to join the friendly and supportive team at Mount Gambier & Districts Health Service. Located in the beautiful Limestone Coast region, this role offers the chance to work across both midwifery and acute nursing settings, gaining experience in diverse clinical areas while contributing to high-quality, person-centred care.

This is a multi-varied position where you will:

  • Deliver direct nursing and midwifery care on a shift-by-shift basis.
  • Assess patient needs, plan and implement care, and coordinate services across disciplines.
  • Support new and less experienced staff, including students and Enrolled Nurses.
  • Provide health promotion and education to patients, families, and the community.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities that enhance patient safety and care outcomes.

About You

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. We are seeking applicants who are registered as both Nurse and Midwife, however, consideration will be given for a Registered Midwife with appropriate experience.
  • With demonstrated competence in nursing/midwifery practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will demonstrate a commitment to providing patient and family-centred care.
  • Your effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills will equip you to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads.
