Salary Range: $96,000–$136,000 plus super (2026 rates)
Allowances: Remote Teaching Allowances up to $10,000–$12,000 per annum, housing and utilities provided, plus 3 FOILs (Flights Out In Lieu)

About the Positions

There are two upcoming opportunities:

Term 4, 2025: Year 3/4 Primary class – ideal for teachers available for short-term contracts with full remote benefits provided

2026: Full-year Primary and Secondary roles

Primary: Years 4–6 multi-age class

Secondary: “Fellas Class” – older boys cohort, suited to a confident and adaptable educator

These are high-impact roles working closely with Aboriginal students in a remote community setting.

Who We’re Looking For

This role will suit confident, self-sufficient teachers who can thrive in remote settings and bring a strong classroom presence. The school team is currently made up of experienced educators aged mid-30s to 60s, and there is a preference for applicants who are similarly grounded, adaptable, and skilled in planning, differentiation, and assessment.

While experienced teachers are preferred, the school may consider a high-performing graduate who can demonstrate maturity, initiative, and readiness for remote teaching.

Single applicants due to limited housing

Strong classroom practitioners with a track record of student progress

Confident working independently and contributing meaningfully to a small team

Flexible, emotionally grounded, and respectful of Aboriginal culture

Skills and Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, curriculum-aligned lessons across composite year levels

Plan, assess, and report student progress independently and effectively

Support student wellbeing and learning needs with a trauma-informed lens

Build positive, respectful relationships with students and the wider community

Demonstrate leadership in the classroom and initiative across the school

Remuneration and Benefits

Base Salary: $96,000–$136,000 (*2026 CT scale)

Allowances: Cat 3 Remote School Allowance + Designated School (~$13k)

Relocation: Flights and full relocation covered

Housing: Fully subsidised accommodation provided

FOILs: 3 x Return flights to a capital city included annually

Requirements

NT Teacher Registration or eligibility to obtain

Full Australian working rights

Completion of HARKE’s safeguarding process and two current referees, including one of current school if offered.
