Marine Engineer
About Us
Blue Carbon designs and manufactures innovative marine technologies with applications in desalination, aquaculture, and ocean systems. Our work spans engineering design, manufacturing, and field deployment, with a focus on practical solutions that perform reliably in challenging marine environments. This is a unique opportunity to work end-to-end — from design and calculations through documentation and manufacturing support to trials at sea — and see the direct impact of your work.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Marine Engineer to join our team and contribute to both the technical and operational sides of our projects. The role includes preparing documentation, creating CAD models, performing engineering calculations, supporting basic project management, and assisting with client-facing sales engineering. You will also work closely with our business development team and consult with external specialists in mooring design, naval architecture, structural and hydrodynamic engineering, and finance, giving you exposure to the full ecosystem of marine technology development.
This is an opportunity to apply your engineering expertise while gaining broad experience across design, manufacturing, and deployment, as well as developing skills in cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain technical documentation for designs, projects, and manufacturing.
Develop and update CAD drawings and design models.
Carry out engineering calculations and analysis to support design validation.
Apply FEA (finite element analysis) and simulation tools to assess system performance and reliability.
Support project management tasks, including schedules, task tracking, and supplier coordination.
Contribute to sales engineering, preparing technical inputs for proposals and client discussions.
Participate in field testing and trials of marine systems.
Collaborate with the business development team and external consultants in mooring, naval architecture, structural and hydrodynamics, and finance.
Work across design, manufacturing, and operations to solve engineering challenges and deliver projects.
Requirements
Degree in Marine Engineering (or closely related field).
3–4 years of professional experience in a relevant engineering role.
Proficiency with CAD software and confidence in engineering calculations.
Experience with industry-standard engineering software packages such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Rhino, and ANSYS, including application of FEA tools.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills, with interest in supporting client-facing work.
Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow in a fast-moving technology environment.
What We Offer
Hands-on experience with marine system design and manufacturing.
Direct collaboration with experts in engineering, business development, and finance.
Exposure to a wide range of engineering and project activities.
A supportive environment for career development and growth.
The opportunity to contribute directly to the development and deployment of innovative marine technologies.
