Position Title: Teacher Engineering Technology (Mechatronics)

Employment Status: Casual

Department: Business, Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics

Location: Multi-Campus

Award Classification: Victorian TAFE Teaching Staff Agreement 2024

Salary: $86.15 - $93.08 per hour (pending MEA eligibility)

Hours per Week: Up to 38 hours per week, subject to operational requirements

About the Role

Melbourne Polytechnic is seeking a skilled and motivated Engineering Technology Teacher to support the effective delivery of vocational and non-vocational education programs. This is a great opportunity to contribute to strategic projects, drive operational improvements, and support collaborative team success in a purpose-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, teach and assess learning activities that meet learner needs

Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment

Implement learning processes and support student wellbeing

Engage with industry and maintain vocational currency

Ensure compliance with quality standards and maintain accurate records

Mentor and support entry-level teachers and contribute to curriculum development

Skills and Experience Required

Relevant qualifications and/or experience in Engineering Technology

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122/TAE40116) or equivalent

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Organised and detail-oriented with a solutions mindset

ExcellentICT skills and commitment to continuous improvement

Additional Requirements

Successful candidate will be required to provide:

A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)

A National Police Check
