About the Program
Anglicare NT’s OutCARE program supports people leaving prison to rebuild their lives, reconnect with family and work towards a positive future. This includes helping with immediate practical needs on release, linking with employment, training and community supports and exploring longer term goals.
About the Opportunity
Please note: this is a part time position 23 hours per week
As OutCARE Case Worker, you will provide culturally safe, strengths-based support to clients post-release from prison who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You’ll work closely with clients to assess needs, develop case plans, and support skill development in areas such as life management, financial literacy, and personal growth. This role is part of a vital program funded by the NT Department of Justice, aimed at reducing recidivism and supporting successful community reintegration.
In this rewarding role you will:

  • Conduct assessments and develop individualised case management plans.
  • Provide support through outreach, group work, and skill-building activities.
  • Collaborate with families, community services, and government agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to program reporting.
  • Interview clients pre- and post-release and assist with housing placements.

What we are looking for:

  • Qualifications in Community Services or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to manage complex situations with discretion and sound judgement
  • Prior experience or, at a minimum, demonstrated commitment to working respectfully with Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse clients, communities, staff, and Aboriginal controlled organisations.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must provide 100 points of identification to confirm Australian citizenship or eligibility to work in Australia; possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a current National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a valid NT driver’s licence.
Experience of working closely with and having a strong understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture would be considered an advantage.
