Make a difference every day

At Deaf Connect, we stand alongside Deaf, deafblind and Hard of Hearing children and their families to help them achieve their communication and life goals. As a Speech Pathologist in our Therapy & Family Services team, you’ll be part of a passionate multidisciplinary group committed to inclusive, family-centred support. This role offers the variety of clinic, school, community, home, and telehealth settings, with achievable billable hours and a strong focus on quality care over numbers.

Why join us?

  • Flexibility that suits you, with full-time, part-time, or casual opportunities.
  • Inclusive, supportive culture- join a team that values collaboration and respect.
  • Learn and grow- formal Auslan training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
  • Achievable expectations- realistic billable hours, with support to focus on quality outcomes.
  • Wellbeing & benefits- salary packaging to maximise take-home pay, gym discounts, flu vaccinations, and financial wellness support.
  • Impact- be part of Australia’s largest Deaf services provider, driving social change and building inclusive communities.

About the role

You’ll provide speech, language and listening assessments in line with Healthy Hearing Monitoring Guidelines, and deliver therapy for NDIS and Medicare clients with hearing loss. You’ll work closely with families to support their communication choices, respecting values and embracing Auslan as the language of the Deaf community. Services are offered across:

  • Clinic-based early intervention and school programs
  • Hear for Kids in Schools program
  • Community and home visits
  • Telehealth services

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and write reports.
  • Develop and implement tailored therapy programs.
  • Provide family-inclusive, evidence-based clinical support.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and progress records.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to resource and program development that promotes inclusive communication.

About you

We’d love to hear from you if you are:

  • A qualified Speech Pathologist (Bachelor or Master’s Degree) with SPA membership.
  • Eligible for NDIS Worker Screening Check and Blue Card.
  • Passionate about supporting children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Confident in evidence-based practice and family-centred approaches.
  • Skilled at managing caseloads independently and working within a team.
  • Interested in professional development and open to learning Auslan.

Highly regarded skills.

  • Experience delivering services via telehealth.
  • Demonstrated ongoing professional learning relevant to the Deaf/Hard of Hearing population.
