The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a dedicated Community & Environmental Field Officer to join our team. This key role is responsible for measuring and minimising the environmental and social impacts of our operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate standards, and actively engaging with local communities and stakeholders. The position will predominately be field based and an onsite role.
Environmental Monitoring & Management
Conduct and coordinate environmental and social monitoring in line with Environmental Management Plans.
Maintain monitoring equipment and ensure accurate sampling and calibration.
Assist in developing and updating Environmental Management Plans and compliance strategies.
Conduct site audits and ensure compliance with Planning Permits, Mining Licence Conditions, and statutory obligations.
Community Engagement & Communication
Foster open and transparent relationships with residents, government authorities, and community groups.
Execute community engagement activities to strengthen Victory Minerals’ presence in the Ballarat region.
Regular liaison with community residents interested in the activities of the mine
Reporting & Compliance
Support the management and reporting of environmental incidents and liaise with relevant authorities.
Contribute to site-wide projects promoting environmental stewardship and GED (General Environmental Duty) compliance.
Safety & Health Leadership
Model high standards of health and safety practices by leading by example in hazard identification, incident reporting, and risk minimisation.
Support a safety-first culture by promoting safe behaviours and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Degree in Environmental Science or related discipline.
Proven experience in environmental roles, preferably within mining or heavy industry.
High-level computer literacy and ability to manage GIS systems (desirable).
Strong community awareness and stakeholder engagement skills.
Current Manual Driver’s Licence (4x4 experience highly regarded).
Physically fit to undertake regular fieldwork and manual handling tasks.
