As one of SA's largest employers, we offer a varied and opportunity-rich workplace where you can forge an interesting and financially rewarding career, now and into the future. You’ll benefit from award-winning training, internal development programs and diverse career pathways.

Our business sees truly diverse people coming together to drive our innovation, and you’ll work alongside some of the most talented and motivated people in the state.

Let us empower your career, as you help empower South Australia.

About the Program

Supported by experienced professionals together with external qualifications our Cadet Project Officer (PO) program develops people to have the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to pursue exiting careers within SA Power Networks. Our POs work with external customers and internal stakeholders to deliver new customer connections, asset relocations, and extensions of our network. To deliver this critical work our POs undertake tasks such as scoping, designing, estimating and project approvals, delivering great customer outcomes while ensuring the infrastructure reliability is maintained.

Our program offers a unique opportunity, promoting work/life balance and diversity in a dynamic and growing industry. As a Cadet PO, you will gain a nationally recognised qualification in either project management or electrical engineering (depending on previous experience) while developing valuable on-the-job skills and experience in a supportive environment. In addition, cadets undertake an internal training program covering essential skills and various work and safety related training modules.

As a Cadet PO, throughout the program you will be based at numerous locations (through planned rotations) in both metro and outer metro depots and at our Keswick headquarters.

Upon successful completion of the program, Cadet POs will be well-suited candidates for Project Officer and Powerline Design positions, among others.

About You

We are actively seeking energetic and enthusiastic individuals who are eager to gain on-the-job work experience and technical knowledge to develop their career in the technical and project management field.

If you are excited to learn about the energy industry and project management, you have a passion for customer service delivery and are ready to take on challenges by using your analytical mind to solve complex problems, you are the type of person we are looking for.

Like us, you are committed to making a positive impact on our community and value inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunity and believe welcoming and supportive environments allow people to thrive while using their unique perspectives and talents. Above all, you are excited about the prospect of joining SA Power Networks and contributing to our mission of delivering safe, reliable, and affordable power supply to South Australia.
