TMH Welding & Fabrications is offering a unique apprenticeship opportunity for experienced Diesel Fitters who want to expand their skills and complete a second trade in Boilermaking.

Based in Cairns, we specialise in heavy-duty breakdown repairs, fabrication, and maintenance across quarries, transport fleets, and commercial sites. This role offers exposure to a wide variety of challenging projects, from mobile welding and fabrication to workshop-based builds.

What you’ll be doing:

Completing your Boilermaker apprenticeship while applying your Diesel Fitter knowledge on the job

Working on structural steel, heavy mobile plant, truck bodies, and quarry equipment

Learning multiple weld processes (MIG, Stick, TIG) across a range of materials

Gaining hands-on experience with advanced fabrication equipment, including CNC plasma and press brake

Working in a small, tight-knit team with direct mentorship and support

What we’re looking for:

A qualified Diesel Fitter (or someone close to completing) who wants to add a Boilermaker trade

Strong practical skills, mechanical awareness, and problem-solving ability

A willingness to learn, adapt, and put in the hard yards

A team player who values safety, quality, and attention to detail
