Project Manager (Civil)
Brown Contractors is a long-standing, family-owned civil and roadworks company based in South-East Queensland. We self-perform most works and pride ourselves on being hands-on, fair, and easy to work with. With a solid pipeline across TMR and local government clients, we’re seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of road, drainage and pavement rehabilitation projects.
Location & flexibility
Base: Our main works depot in Moore (Somerset Region)
Accommodation: Weeknight accommodation can be provided for candidates living outside the immediate area
Travel/onsite: Onsite works across SEQ and regional QLD as required; accommodation and applicable allowances provided
Hybrid option: After probation (and by agreement), this role can transition to a hybrid arrangement, including work-from-home

What you’ll do
Take full ownership of planning and delivering multiple projects safely, on time and to budget—from pre-start through close-out
Lead programming, procurement and subcontractor/supplier management
Own cost control, forecasting, progress claims, variations and reporting
Uphold Quality, Safety and Environmental standards within our ISO-certified IMS
Interface professionally with TMR, councils, consultants, utilities and local stakeholders
Ensure traffic management, permits and compliance are in place (TGS/TMP, PUP coordination, etc.)
Coach supervisors/engineers and foster a high-performance site culture
What you’ll bring (must-haves)
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil or related)
Proven TMR project experience (MRTS/MRS familiarity essential)
Strong commercial acumen (programs, claims, EOTs, variations, risk)
Solid grasp of construction methodologies: stabilisation, pavement rehab, drainage, formations, asphalt/seal prep
Excellent stakeholder and team leadership skills
Self-starter mindset: proactive, accountable, and comfortable working with high autonomy
Current driver’s licence and full working rights in Australia
Highly regarded
RPEQ (or working towards)
Experience acting as CQR / strong QA background
Proficiency with MS Project/Primavera, Office 365, and common site QA systems
