What you’ll be doing

The Cancer Institute NSW is seeking a Chief Data Officer to be responsible for oversight of data and information in order to drive decisions and growth in relation to cancer control in NSW. You will be responsible for developing data procedures and policies and work closely with all divisions to develop shared data practices, seek efficiencies and transparency across all aspects of data flow through the Institute.

Essential to the role will be your ability to influence multiple stakeholders across the Institute and more broadly across NSW Health while communicating the data vision for the Institute.

  1. Please outline your experience in driving data related projects and strategy across a large complex organisation.
  1. Tell us how you drive innovation and change in data science and analytics and promote these initiatives to multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Essential requirements

  • Superior experience and a record of achievement in leading and managing critical, highly complex and/or enterprise-wide data operations and initiatives in a complex organisation at a strategic level.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or equivalent
  • Highly developed interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with extensive experience engaging, collaborating and influencing key stakeholders and customers at a senior level to influence and achieve optimal business outcomes, coupled with the ability to communicate high-level technical information to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Extensive track record of instigating an enterprise-wide perspective to exploit the value of data and the ability to combine this best practice in all aspects of data management and dissemination and its future utility.

If successful for interview candidates must bring original copies of essential qualifications to be sighted by the panel, and one copy to provide to panel.
