Job Title: Head of Curriculum

Salary: $130K – $180K base + super (higher negotiable for outstanding candidates)

Employment type: Full-time

We are seeking a Head of Curriculum to join our team and take responsibility for developing complete, audit-ready course materials. This is a hands-on role where you will build full course packs — learner guides, assessments, mapping, TAS, compliance documentation, e-learning modules, and more — ensuring every qualification is professional, compliant, and market-ready. You'll work closely with the CEO, use AI tools as a core part of your workflow, and oversee a small team of contributors.

About ITAC

ITAC is Australia's largest provider of nationally recognised training in education support. We also deliver early childhood education and care programs and are expanding into new fields including Business, Leadership & Management, Project Management, Work Health and Safety, Fitness, Real Estate, and Training & Assessment (TAE).

Our students are primarily adult learners balancing study with work and family commitments. We provide high-quality, practical training that leads to real outcomes in schools, early learning centres, and related workplaces.

We are a small, high-performing team with a practical and supportive working style, owned and operated by the founding family since 2009.

About the Role

We are seeking a curriculum professional with advanced writing skills, strong VET sector knowledge, and the ability to deliver full course builds efficiently and independently.

This is a production-focused, AI-enabled role. The Head of Curriculum will deliver complete course packs (learner guides, assessments, mapping, TAS, reviews, compliance materials, e-modules, webinars etc.).

You will work closely with the CEO, supervise Tier 2 contributors, and play a direct role in building ITAC's next wave of nationally recognised qualifications. The role operates under a high-autonomy, project-based model with structured reporting (weekly, monthly, probation, annual).

Key Responsibilities

Build complete, high-quality, compliant courseware packages end-to-end across various sectors.

Write and edit learner guides, assessments, BMAs, mapping, TAS, validation docs, and compliance materials.

Use AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude) as the primary drafting method — AI is central to this role.

Oversee Tier 2 contributors working on e-modules, videos, and supplementary content.

Ensure all outputs meet ITAC's benchmark quality standards (engaging, compliant, efficient to deliver/assess, audit-ready).

Report weekly to the CEO and provide work samples through structured updates.

Contribute to scope expansion, industry consultation, and compliance activities as required.

Maintain version control and documentation in line with internal SOPs.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Education, Training, Curriculum, or related field (required).

Master's degree preferred; PhD or EdD advantageous but not essential.

Proven experience designing and delivering full qualifications (VET preferred, higher ed accepted).

Minimum 5-8 years of experience in designing and delivering full qualifications is required.

Exceptional professional writing skills — fast, structured, technically accurate.

Strong knowledge of training packages and compliance (mapping, TAS, validation).

High-level digital and AI fluency (AI writing assistants, MS Office, Articulate Rise, SharePoint, LMS etc.).

Strong task management and ability to operate independently with minimal oversight.

Highly organised, systematic, and output-driven — thrives on lists, structure, and deadlines.

Australian work rights are required for this position.

Salary and Structure

Base Salary: $130,000 – $180,000 per annum + super (depending on qualifications and experience; higher remuneration negotiable for outstanding candidates).

Bonuses: CEO-approved only, for additional projects or accelerated work beyond baseline scope.

Contract: 12-month initial term with extension/renewal potential.

Location: WA preferred. Remote/WFH considered by negotiation (must attend office regularly for updates and reviews). Relocation allowance possible.

Hours: Full-time only with some flexibility, output-driven model.

How to Apply

Submit your CV and a short cover letter addressing your relevant experience. You may include examples of curriculum work, writing samples, or portfolio links.

Full Position Description available on request.
