Lead AI Enablement Engineer | Defence Technology

The Opportunity
We're recruiting exclusively on behalf of an innovative defence technology company delivering mission critical AI-enabled solutions to military, government, and critical infrastructure clients. They are seeking a Lead AI Enablement Engineer to join a newly formed AI Enablement team based in Sydney CBD. This role will focus on deploying AI-powered tools that enhance workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy AI tools and automation workflows to improve organisational effectiveness
• Work closely with IT and Security teams to ensure AI solutions are secure and integrated
• Identify AI adoption opportunities and create scalable, cost-effective solutions
• Build and maintain APIs and integration frameworks to support AI initiatives
• Collaborate with stakeholders to validate business needs and measure impact

About You

• Skilled in programming languages such as Go or Python with hands-on AI and cloud infrastructure experience
• Experienced with infrastructure as code, container platforms, and cloud AI services
• Familiar with AI technologies including large language models, autonomous workflows, and no-code automation tools
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
• Background in defence, aerospace, or other high security sectors is a plus (not a must)
