It takes courage to make a difference — and this is your chance.

Why this role is exciting

At Richmind WA, every role contributes to shaping the future of mental health in Western Australia. At Fellowship House Albany, we’re building more than a mental health service — we’re creating a vibrant, community hub where people reconnect, contribute, and rediscover meaning in their lives.

As a Community Mental Health Recovery Practitioner, you’ll work side-by-side with members, helping them explore their recovery journey through creative, therapeutic, and peer-led programs. This is hands-on, relational work where your professional skills meet a community-focused heart. You won’t just support recovery—you’ll be part of the story of transformation.

Your impact

  • Provide 1:1 counselling and group supports that foster meaningful psychosocial growth.
  • Co-design recovery goals with participants, promoting agency and voice.
  • Collaborate with Recovery Support Workers, volunteers, and the broader community to create safe, inclusive spaces.
  • Shape program content, therapeutic activities, and community events that strengthen connection and belonging.

What we’re looking for

  • Diploma or higher in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or Mental Health.
  • Experience in therapeutic, psychosocial recovery work and group facilitation.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and non-pathologising practice.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Required: National Police Clearance, WA Driver’s License, First Aid, Working with Children Check, NDIS Screen Check.

This position is part-time offering 3 days per week.

Who are we?

At Richmind WA, we’ve been supporting people on their mental health journeys for over 50 years.

We’re recovery-first, lived experience-led, and proudly Rainbow Tick accredited. We walk alongside people with compassion, courage, and belief in their potential.

Our services are residential, outreach, and everything in between—person-centred, trauma-informed, and inclusive at the core.

Our values

  • Living and breathing recovery
  • Being brave and exploring
  • Listening deeply and learning
  • Putting people first
  • Being passionate about inclusion and belonging

We work with Elders and First Nations staff to ensure culturally safe supports and value people of every background, identity, and experience.

Why join us?

  • Meaningful work, every single day
  • Flexible shift patterns—because life happens
  • Salary packaging up to $18,640 (boosts your take-home pay)
  • Two bonus leave days—your birthday + wellbeing leave
  • Training, mentoring, and access to LinkedIn Learning
  • Four weeks of annual leave (with the option to buy more)
  • Free and confidential Employee Assistance Program
  • Long service leave after 5 years
