Our company specialises in providing School and Urban bus services in Southeast Queensland. We are currently seeking an experienced driver trainer/mentor to join our team.

About the role

The driver trainer/mentor position plays an important role in delivering practical training and support to drivers as well as reinforcing company expectations when on the road.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

Deliver on-road training for new employees and carry out on-road assessments to ensure compliance with company policies and processes.

Assess new employee’s performance using the mentoring program assessment criteria.

Conduct pre-employment driving assessments.

Provide corrective training to drivers.

Train new and existing drivers on the correct use of ticket systems.

Operate buses in accordance with relevant road laws, other applicable legislation and Company policies.

Advise the relevant person of any safety issues discovered during the operation of the bus.

Driving duties as and when required.

Skills and experience

The successful applicant will have the following qualifications and experience.

Certificate IV TAE

Certificate Driver Trainer Heavy Vehicle

Minimum MR licence

Drivers Authority - General Class

Minimum 4 years’ experience in similar roles

Well-developed communication skills, and the ability to communicate

The ability to contribute positively to the effective operation of a work team.

The ability to contribute to a continuous improvement process, with the focus on input into training and driver development.

Basic computer literacy
