The Director, Financial Services' key responsibilities are:

• Provide strategic leadership, direction and advice to support senior executives on complex and diverse financial accounting and financial management issues consistent with the department's business objectives.
• Provide leadership and direction in the development of key financial outcomes such as the annual financial statements. Provide an effective asset management function.
• Coordinate and deliver support on financial management activities, including maintenance of a debt management regime and delivery of essential foster carer allowance payments via Carepay.
• Lead and manage the development of enhanced systems and reporting mechanisms. Quality assure quantitative and financial models developed within the agency to support business decision making.
• Provide strategic advice and options relating to the ongoing review of the department's financial and non-financial performance to senior management, including strategies for continuous improvement and savings.
• Establish and maintain strategic, collaborative and effective working relationships within the department and across government agencies and other external bodies.
• Directly manage multi-disciplinary project teams to achieve desired system products and outcomes.
