We’re now looking for an Assistant Venue Manager to carry those values forward and help us write the next chapter.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with at least 4 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within a busy pub, restaurant, or bar environment. You’ll bring proven shift leadership, team development, and operational know-how, and be ready to step up into a senior management pathway.

We’re after someone who is:

Approachable, welcoming, and positive. Someone guests and staff alike gravitate toward.

Hands-on and motivated, leading by example and keeping calm in the busiest moments.

Experienced in both elevated dining and fast-paced bar service, with cocktail and wine knowledge to back it up.

Confident in managing a team, training staff, and delivering consistently great service.

Ambitious and eager to learn, with a genuine love for food, wine, and creating memorable guest experiences.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

WSET level 3 a bonus.

Knowledge across OpenTable, Deputy and OrderMate an advantage.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a senior role with variety and responsibility. You’ll be:

Running daily operations, from floor to bar to cellar, with a focus on service standards, safety, and compliance.

Supporting the Venue Manager by rostering, planning, and stepping up when needed.

Leading and motivating the team, coaching them to deliver genuine and generous hospitality.

Driving customer and community engagement, from locals’ nights to function execution and social media.

Managing stock, financial controls, and cash-ups with precision.

Overseeing health and safety and ensuring our venue always operates to the highest standard.

Having the opportunity to contribute to business development and shape product offerings across the venue.

What We Offer

A salary of $75–85k (depending on experience) + super under the Publican.Co Enterprise Agreement 2023/2024, with guaranteed annual salary increases.

Consistent full-time weekly roster with Wednesday–Sunday availability
