We are seeking a qualified and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join one of our local government Fleet & Works teams. This hands-on role is responsible for the inspection, servicing and repair of the Shire’s heavy plant, trucks, light vehicles and small equipment to ensure our fleet operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, service and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems and ancillary equipment.
Conduct routine preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing of fleet vehicles and plant.
Carry out fault finding and provide timely repairs to minimise downtime.
Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Assist with the procurement of parts and liaise with external suppliers as required.
About You
Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic (or equivalent).
Demonstrated experience working on heavy plant, trucks and light vehicles.
Sound understanding of WHS practices and ability to work both independently and in a team.
HR driver’s licence and forklift ticket (desirable).
Pass a pre-employment medical and drug screen.
