The SACCSS Administrator and Media Officer assists in the administration and affairs of the Association, is directly responsible to the SACCSS Executive Officer/s and works in conjunction with the Heads of Sports (HOS).
Decisions regarding the appointment, review and remuneration of the SACCSS Administrator and Media Officer are the responsibility of the current SACCSS Executive Group, in consultation with the SACCSS Principal Group.
Details of the position:
Classification - 0.5 FTE by negotiation
Category - Category B, Education Support Level 2 - 1
Length of Appointment - 1 Year with potential for ongoing
Reports to - SACCSS President and SACCSS Executive Officers
The responsibilities of the SACCSS Administrator and Media Officer include but are not limited to:
Support for the SACCSS Executive Officer in General Sports Administration
Working closely with the SACCSS Executive Officer/s.
Preparing for all SACCSS Championship Events, One Day Tournaments and Home and Away competitions.
Organising ribbons, pennants, medals, trophies and engraving where appropriate.
Assist in booking non-school based officials.
Media and Publications – Administration
Assist in the management of the SACCSS Self-Managed website - all content, fixtures, layout, articles, downloads etc.
Posting results on the website and social media platforms.
Distributing final results to schools.
General management SACCSS Social Media accounts – Facebook, Instagram
Creating content which publicises the achievements of individual students ‘SACCSS Spotlight’ posts and the association where and when appropriate.
Weekly Bulletin on SACCSS Social Media Platforms publicising upcoming events.
Photography - responsible for capturing high-quality images that will serve as inputs for visual materials intended for digital and print media.
Awards Afternoon
Creating and distributing personalised invites to 15 schools.
Liaise with SACCSS Photographer in creating an AV presentation of the year’s photos featuring all 15 schools.
Create table centrepieces and a PowerPoint presentation of program.
Qualifications/ Experience in the following specific criteria is favourable but not essential:
Working with Children’s Check/ VIT registration (essential)
Experience with WordPress
Experience with Hytek Meet and Team Manager software
Use of digital media creation platforms such as Canva and Adobe Suite
Current Driver’s License
Compliance modules – Mandatory Reporting/ First Aid quals
Employment arrangements:
0.4 – 0.6 FTE – by negotiation, including set days and/or flexibility around study commitments. To be available to attend SACCSS events as per calendar.
This role may also involve additional days where necessary for major championships or as deemed necessary by the SACCSS Executive Group
Child Safety:
Have a clear understanding of Ministerial Order 1359 on Child Safety as it relates to the SACCSS Code of Conduct, policies, procedures and practice.
Be familiar with and comply with SACCSS child-safe policy and code of conduct, and any other policies or procedures relating to child safety.
Provide students with a child-safe environment.
Uphold a zero-tolerance attitude towards child abuse.
Ensure cultural safety for Aboriginal children and children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Provide a safe and accessible environment for children with a disability.
Implement strategies that promote a healthy and positive learning environment for all learners.
