This role begins as a self sufficient tradesperson working both alone and in team settings, through continual development, opportunities can arise to develop the role into a team leader, a leading hand and beyond.
Role Responsibilities:
As a tradesperson at SJ Power, you'll be entrusted with several key responsibilities:
Quality Workmanship and Standards Compliance: Uphold our standards of excellence through precise technical proficiency, adherence to industry standards, and meticulous attention to detail.
Efficiency: Manage tasks effectively, optimising time and resources while maintaining a focus on efficiency.
Communication & Reporting: Maintain clear, open communication with clients, suppliers, and management. Use Simpro job management systems to report and document work.
Client Relations: Build strong relationships with clients, offering an excellent customer experience.
Safety & Professionalism: Prioritise safety in all tasks, adhering to SWMS and JSA’s, while upholding 5-star client satisfaction.
Team work: Mentor and provide guidance to apprentices as required.
Continuous Learning: Commit to ongoing skill development, staying updated on industry trends and innovations in electrical, solar, and battery technologies.
Skills/Qualifications:
Licensed electrician with at least 3 years of post-trade experience.
Solar certification or experience (preferred).
Driver’s license.
Working at heights certification (preferred but not essential).
Experience with job management systems (preferred).
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Adaptable mindset, ready to learn new systems and products.

A typical day at SJ Power starts with meeting at the office, where you catch up with the team, have a quick laugh, and load up your van with everything you’ll need for the day. After a quick coffee stop, you head out to the first job, whether it's electrical rough in, solar install or a battery service, working efficiently and keeping in touch with your co-workers to help each other out if needed. With a solid plan and support from the management team, you move through the day's tasks smoothly, ensuring everything’s done right without rushing. By staying organised and focused, you finish the day on time, heading home knowing you’ve done some quality work and still have time to enjoy your afternoon.
