DWS is seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst with a strong focus on Cybersecurity to join our client on-site. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into actionable solutions that enhance the organisation’s cybersecurity posture. Your ability to bridge the gap between technical and business domains will be critical in communicating complex concepts to non-technical audiences and driving meaningful business outcomes
Type: 12 Month Max-Term
Salary: Up to $180,000 including Superannuation - depending on background & experience
Location: Sydney CBD
Workstyle: Hybrid, 3/4 Days pw on-site

What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience as an IT Business Analyst across both technical and functional domains, ideally within enterprise-scale cybersecurity and group policy uplift projects
- Proven success working in Agile environments, with hands-on experience using tools such as Rally and Jira
- Strong blend of technical acumen and business analysis expertise, enabling effective translation of business needs into technical solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Formal qualifications such as IIBA CCA, CBAP, CCSP or CISSP are highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience delivering across a wide range of enterprise projects, preferably within Banking or Financial Services
- Practical application of formal methodologies including BABOK, Scrum, and BPMN
- Comfortable working in dynamic and fast-paced environments, with a proactive and adaptable mindset
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities
- Demonstrates agility in navigating changing priorities, environments, and stakeholder needs
- Comfortable working across diverse teams, technologies, and business domains
- Maintains a proactive and solution-oriented approach in dynamic settings
What you'll be doing:
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to understand Group Policy security requirements and develop business cases that align with strategic objectives
- Conduct stakeholder analysis, facilitate requirements elicitation, and manage engagement across business and technical stakeholders.
- Lead workshops, run prioritisation sessions, and chair working groups to drive consensus and clarity
- Develop and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), use cases, process flows, and other artefacts using industry-standard techniques
- Apply data analysis to support decision-making, leveraging AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, S3, Redshift) to identify trends and inform cybersecurity strategy
- Design and deliver reporting frameworks and metrics to measure cybersecurity performance and risk
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet business needs, are fit-for-purpose, and delivered on time and within budget
- Provide training, change support, and documentation to ensure successful adoption of new cybersecurity systems and processes
- Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies and proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement
