Surf Instructors

Manly Surf provides surf lessons and coaching for all levels from beginners to advanced surfing. There are many different programs on offer such as school holiday and after school programs, adult group and private lessons. Customers are from all over the world, Australia and/or the Northern Beaches. Manly Surf School are in need of staff who have great customer service skills and surf experience who would be willing to join the team of experienced instructors for the summer season.

Positions available from around the end of October onwards are:

Fully qualified Head Coaches Level 1 and Level 2 coaches

Head Coach applicants must hold Level 1 surf coaching qualification

Assistant Coaches

Assistant Coach positions require completion of a surf safety course

Locations include Manly, Long Reef, Collaroy and Palm Beaches throughout the summer season. You will be required to work between all three locations so please be prepared for travel.

Whether you are a uni student looking for a part time or a weekend role, already working and would like to add to your work. Or looking for a change in career or are a seasoned professional surf coach - we want to hear from you!

Wednesday around lunchtimes and Friday mornings are particularly busy, if you are happy to work those days, please highlight this in the application!

To be eligible for the role you:

are safety focussed! Customers (including children) may not understand the dangers, the priority of a surf instructor is to keep them safe.

are on the front foot when it comes to customer service.

are qualified!

are friendly and enjoy interacting with people of all different ages and backgrounds.

have some surf experience although you don't need to be Kelly Slater

enjoy working outdoors

are eager to learn & willing to receive feedback on lesson plans or coaching styles.

If you are going for a Head Coach role, please briefly outline previous experience and your qualifications.

If you are 18 years or older, please note that you will be required to obtain a Working With Children Check, which can be easily obtained from Service NSW, at your own cost (approximately $80) and a First Aid/CPR certificate as a minimum. The WWC can take 3 weeks to obtain.
