Queensland South Native Title Services (QSNTS) is a Native Title Service Provider funded by the Federal Government to assist Traditional Owners in the pursuit of their native title aspirations by providing a comprehensive range of statutory services under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth). About the role
The role supports research for native title claims and related projects. Key duties include assisting anthropologists with research, managing research materials, and maintaining databases.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Support research projects, including native title claims and general inquiries
- Compile genealogical, anthropological, geospatial, and historical research documents
- Provide administrative support, such as requesting archival documents
- Organise and archive research materials, update databases, and maintain the Research Library
- Transcribe interviews
About You
- 1 + years of administration experience
- Studying or hold a degree in Anthropology/Sociology or related fields
- Knowledge of native title/heritage in Queensland (highly regarded)
- Experience with filing and archiving research materials
- Experience working with Aboriginal communities
- Interest in native title and Aboriginal heritage
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and computer skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and prioritise tasks
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
