Salary: Science B - $97,955 to $111,142 + 12% superannuation

About the role:
Reporting to the Principal Health Scientist, the Health Scientist is a member of a team responsible for building an evidence-based understanding of environmental public health risk. You will support EPA to meet its statutory responsibilities and relating to environmental public health and deliver high-quality expert advice and information on environmental public health matters.
In this role you will:
- Plan and deliver high quality environmental public health advice, information, publications, and programs, that meet the needs of the EPA as a science-based regulator.
- Build networks and manage effective working relationships across the EPA to support delivery of the environmental public health function.
- Prepare and deliver timely and high-quality advice and reports, responding to requests for health advice and reviews of health assessments.
- Gather, analyse and synthesise scientific data in relation to public health exposures and health impacts; prepare summary information on health data analysis.
Skills and experience:
- A relevant tertiary degree with qualifications in public health, health science or other related discipline.
- Postgraduate qualifications in environmental public health or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in assessing environmental public health data and impacts.
- Ability to think outside the square, a willingness to try new things and a genuine desire to learn, share knowledge and make a difference.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills which demonstrate a consistent positive attitude and team player
