Twynam Investments are looking for an experienced Animal Husbandry Technician to join our team at Marulan NSW, 2579 to assist the team in breeding, raising, feed efficiency testing and managing livestock by undertaking technical animal husbandry tasks such as pregnancy testing, artificial insemination, lactation management and providing nutrition assessment, managing our Intergado feed efficiency equipment, assessing feed efficiency and providing advice in these areas.
Combined with our philosophy to increase the soil carbon content via regenerative agricultural practices such as multi species pastures and intensive rotational grazing, we are striving to create Angus and composite breed of cattle to produce great eating meat while being much more feed efficient. To achieve these goals, we are involved with things such as worm farming, pasture spraying of biologicals, artificial insemination, feed efficiency testing of our cattle progeny, sourcing feed efficient cattle from around the world and a whole lot more.
Basic Objective:
Efficiently run the Intergado feed production system in consultation with the team
Ensure rotational grazing is achieved daily with feed out
Induct cattle as they arrive on farm
Manage load out of animals to sale
Operate with regenerative farming principles
Maintain the feed machinery with detailed plan
Ensure staff are organised so system doesn't have down time
Record product in and product out
Unload all product and reload empty containers
Weekly reporting on operations and performance of feed production
Key Responsibilities:
1. lntergado ( www.intergado.com.br)
Manage the operations of lntergado and ensure the units are used at the maximum throughput while on farm for Twynam
Set out timelines with Livestock management for seamless induction of animals entering lntergado.
Ensure maximum uptime of the system
Analyse results
2. Feed Enterprise
Always have feed sources accounted for and surplus in advance
Maintain all machinery for effective feeding
Develop staffing plan to ensure effective feeding
Monitor climatic conditions to ensure feeding isn't affected due to wet weather
Cattle Operations
To ensure the monitoring of animals to maximise production
Develop strategic plans for livestock activities that provide guidance for operational and production systems
To work with the Farm Manager to develop an integrated "Twynam" branded product
Enhance the sustainability and efficiency of the Twynam business
Develop and implement health programs for animals
Plan and implement the staffing schedules
Coordinate transportation of livestock when required
Organise well documented livestock movements on and off farm
Collect and record all reported data for production performance
Keep all data up to date on AgriWebb
Develop and suggest the breeding program in conjunction with the team
4. Develop and manage Drought Strategies
5. Communications
Ensure effective communications of decisions across all team members.
Meet regularly with the farm manager and other team members to coordinate activities to discuss operational issues, coordinate operations and resolve problems to enable the maximization of outcomes.
Provide support to the Farm manager to facilitate the efficient functioning of the Twynam livestock enterprises.
6. Provide support to Farm Manager to maximise the farm return: -
Yearly planning of operations
Operational running costs relative to budget
Notify and reconcile stock numbers and movements.
7. Provide support to Livestock manager and Farm manger.
Effectively communicate to inform stock numbers and requirements
Provide performance data of livestock so pasture performance and cost efficiency can be analysed
8. Ensure feeding goals are achieved
9. Financial Management
Ensure all products are accounted for and relative information given to office
Ensure all accounting information is completed accurately so activities only need to be done once
Monitor livestock performance to actuals and liaise with management

11. Occupational Health & Safety
Improve our safety culture by ensuring all employees adhere to Twynam policy and procedure and that managers comply and administer all elements of the Occupational Health and Safety Injury Management System (see below)
Key Performance Indicators:
Proactively attending to breeding, raising and management of cattle
Maximise the use of lntegrado- ensure that there are very few empty days
Ensure that lntegrado operates with 95% up time
All feed inputs are recorded correctly as they arrive on farm
All feed production records are uploaded daily
Implement walk over weighing and utilise data generated
Ensure all data systems and records AgriWebb are kept up to date, which means operations are inputted within 24 hours of occurrence and ideally immediately that they occur- with administrative support
Regenerative practices are followed eg Cattle are moved daily or as otherwise agreed
Have a clear yearly timeline of activities on farm
Maintenance schedule adhered to
Weekly reporting to farm manager
Continue to develop a Twynam culture of:

Skills Required:
Required to have Intergado Feed and Livestock management skills, general agricultural skills and education to fulfil the Key Responsibilities.
Have a strong background in animal health and reproductive management
Required to have a high level of organisational ability, good communication skills, be self directing and meticulous in their work.
Motivation, persistence and patience when faced with obstacles, commitment to the job.
Strategic planning and commercial skills, able to conceptualise, articulate and problem solve.
