About us:

Blackwater Hospital is a 16-bed facility, including four aged care beds, delivering acute inpatient, emergency, pharmacy, and outpatient services to the community. The team has transitioned into a brand-new, modern facility. Visiting Allied Health services such as podiatry, speech pathology, occupational therapy, and psychiatric care complement the hospital's offerings, alongside community health clinics in antenatal, dietetics, child health, diabetes, immunisation, and women's health.

About the role:

The Senior Medical Officer delivers high-quality primary and secondary medical services at the Blackwater Multi-Purpose Health Service, with a strong focus on patient safety, continuous improvement, and supporting the professional development of fellow clinicians. Flexible roster options are available, including fly-in/fly-out or drive-in/drive-out arrangements (travel at employee's cost). As part of CQHHS, the role may involve providing clinical services across multiple facilities in line with service needs, including Rockhampton, Gladstone, Emerald, Biloela, Capricorn Coast, Mount Morgan, Baralaba, Theodore, Springsure, Moura, North Rockhampton Nursing Centre, Eventide, and Rockhampton Mental Health Service.

About you:
  • Obstetrics i.e., DRANZCOG (Advanced)
  • Anaesthetics ie: JCCA
  • Surgery
  • Internal Medicine
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Paediatrics
  • Mandatory qualification/s: MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. The incumbent is required to maintain registration with the Medical Board of Australia at all
  • Non-mandatory qualifications/requirements: FACRRM or FRACGP or evidence of significant progress as an ACRRM or RACGP
  • Advanced skills in the following will be favourably considered:
  • Current ALS and PALS certification.
What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $459,097 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A salary rate between $182,106 - $187,801 p.a. (L13-L14)
  • A salary rate between $182,106 - $210,332 p.a. (L13-L18)
  • A salary rate between $210,332 - $251,527 p.a. (L18-L25)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
