Do you want to help power the energy transition?
Do you want to work at the heart of power grid control systems?
Do you want to help improve the way energy is delivered to communities across Australia and beyond?

At Oribus, we’re not just implementing control systems for major transmission and distribution companies—we’re shaping the future of energy. We’re looking for passionate engineers who want to be part of something bigger: driving innovation, sustainability, and smarter energy solutions.

As an Operational Technology Electrical Engineer, you’ll join a team that’s collaborative, curious, and committed to making a difference. You’ll work on cutting-edge projects in Electricity Distribution, Electricity Transmission and Gas Distribution to improve grid control systems and energy delivery processes —across Tasmania and mainland Australia.

Preferably you're based in Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney or Adelaide - however we also support remote working so regional engineers can also apply. Whether you're seeking part-time or full-time work, this role offers flexibility, purpose, and the chance to grow alongside a small team of talented and committed engineers. We are also interested in hearing from graduate or near graduating engineers who are interested in this opportunity.

What You'll Be Working On

You’ll be part of a high-performing team that supports your development and values your perspective. Your work will span:

Electrical Control Systems including

SCADA

Advanced Distribution Management Systems

Energy Management Systems (Transmission)

Commissioning activities in control systems for new or modified plant

Testing and commissioning of upgraded systems

Assisting support teams in the management of the advanced control systems

Power system modelling and analysis

Developing and configuring advanced automation systems to complement the network control system

Tools You'll Use

We’re looking for engineers who are comfortable with—or excited to learn—industry-leading tools and platforms:

· Power system modelling tools (SINCAL, PSS®E, DIgSILENT)

· SCADA and advanced control systems

· AMI Metering Systems

· DER integration and DERMS

What You Bring

A degree in Electrical, Power or Computer Systems Engineering

At least 2 years’ experience in the energy sector (graduate positions are also available)

A passion for energy and a collaborative mindset

Curiosity, initiative, and a drive to make energy smarter and more sustainable

A customer driven focus and a desire to deliver value to clients

Please Note: Only candidates with the right to live and work in Australia will be considered for this position.
