Future Grid is seeking an experienced senior consultant to join their dynamic team in a full-time role as a Lead SME in the Low Voltage Electrical Distribution Network. This role focuses on on delivering impactful IT business solutions within the electrical LV distribution sector. This pivotal role is ideal for an individual who has a deep understanding of electricity distribution processes, technology integration, and regulatory frameworks, with a strong track record of working within Australian or NZ electricity distribution businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with electricity utility customers to implement, develop and optimise our analytics solution within their environment.

Lead cross-functional initiatives and provide valuable insights into the business processes that drive operations in electricity distribution, transmission, and retail.

Work across multiple customer departments to deliver practical, technology-driven solutions that address key business challenges.

Work with electricity utilities on the design of innovative analytics features for smart metering systems, Distributed Energy Resources (DER) solutions, and other cutting-edge technologies to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

Ensure compliance with Australian, NZ, and US regulatory frameworks

Facilitate workshops, meetings, and presentations to engage customers, stakeholders, and employees, with a focus on educating and influencing at all levels.

Collaborate on data management initiatives, including ensuring privacy and security protocols in line with software development processes.

Monitor industry trends, including renewable technologies, and integrate these into business strategies to align with evolving market needs.

Key Requirements:

Experience: At least 10 years working within an Australian or NZ electricity distribution business, with hands-on exposure to multiple departments.

Work Rights: Must hold full Australian working rights and be able to provide supporting documentation upon request.

Education: Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Police Check: Must be willing to undergo a National Police Check, with a clear outcome.

Vendor Management: A minimum of 5 years of experience working with IT vendors in the electrical distribution industry.

Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Australian, NZ, and US regulatory frameworks, along with an understanding of the motivations driving regulations.

Technology Expertise: Strong knowledge of smart metering, DER systems, renewable technologies, and DOE.

Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills, with experience interacting with both internal teams and external customers.

Business Process Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the business processes surrounding electricity distribution, from operational to customer management and privacy concerns.

Global Framework: Familiarity with electricity distribution, transmission, and retail business frameworks on a global scale, particularly in vertically aggregated and disaggregated customer business models.

Presentation and Training: Proven ability to lead meetings, workshops, and deliver presentations to diverse audiences including customers, potential customers, and internal teams.
