The Role

We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Fire Door Installer / Repairer to join Civil Fire’s fire door department.

This is NOT a general labouring role — we are seeking someone with proven experience in fire door installation and repairs, or a solid carpentry background with demonstrated transferable skills.

Fire doors are heavy & awkward. This role requires physical capability & experience in manual handling procedures. Please do not apply if you are injured or are prone to back issues.

We have sites all over the Sydney Metropolitan area – you will work at a different site each day, and may work at several sites in a day. Depending on the size of the job, you may work independently or as part of a team.

Civil Fire holds a Class A asbestos license for the removal of asbestos fire doors. We're ideally looking for applicants who already have their Asbestos Removal & Asbestos Supervisor qualifications.

The successful applicant may be required to complete repairs to other fire safety measures (such as extinguishers or hose reels) , and will be used to inspect fire protection equipment during routine inspections. On the job training in all areas will be provided.

The successful applicant will be punctual & well presented, and will have good communication skills. Work is usually completed inside people's units, so it's essential our staff are on time, courteous & well presented.

Applicants are required to hold:

Current Driver's Licence

NSW White Card (or equivalent)

Ideally, Asbestos Removal & Asbestos Supervisor qualifications.
