Osborne Richardson continue to bring exceptional Compliance roles to the market all over Australia and we are incredibly excited about a great new Animal Collections Officer role in one of Western Melbourne's local councils.

We are looking for an Animal Collections Officer to commence ASAP, for an initial contract until December 25.

The main purpose of this role is to deliver a responsive Animal Management Service through provision of education to the community on responsible pet ownership and through proactive enforcement of applicable legislation.

A day in this inspiring role will look like:

• Enforcing relevant Acts, Regulations and Local Laws
• Attending to admin duties using Council's internal systems
• Rescuing/impounding animals in accordance with legislation
• Patrolling/door knocking to attend to complaints and enforce legislation
• Transporting sick and injured animals
• Investigating complaints in relation to relevant legislation
• Conducting audits of Local Law Permits Domestic Animal Businesses and housing conditions of animals
• Cleaning and maintaining the Council pound
• Educating the community on 'Responsible Pet Ownership'

To excel in this role, we're looking for people with:

• Strong animal handling skills
• Sound office admin skills
• Conflict resolution skills and the ability to deal with upset/aggressive people
• Excellent customer service skills
• Knowledge of animal management procedures
• A relevant certification is desirable but not essential
