About the work unit / facility:
Cultural Assessment and Liaison Team
Based at Kirwan Health Campus, the Cultural Assessment and Liaison Team (CALT) is part of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing Assessment Engagement Services (A&TSI WAES) within the Mental Health Service Group. The team provides culturally safe and responsive mental health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, adolescents and young adults.

- Salary range: $2878.20 to $3958.00 p.f. (HWF3)
- Annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity:
As an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Worker – Advanced (Identified), you will provide culturally appropriate support, guidance and advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients accessing CYMHS. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community organisations to improve mental health outcomes.
Requirements:
- Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration (if applicable).
- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander to work in the to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
- Possession of class C drivers' licence.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted including criminal history and Blue Card checks.
