Job Description:

As an Apprentice Custom Picture Framer, you will work with a team of experienced professionals to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind frames for a variety of artwork, photographs, and memorabilia. This apprenticeship program is designed to provide you with hands-on experience, mentorship, and the skills necessary to excel in the art of custom framing.

Key Responsibilities:

Learn the Craft: Under the guidance of our expert framers, you will acquire the skills and knowledge required to produce high-quality custom frames, including measuring, cutting, joining, and finishing.

Customer Interaction: Assist customers with their framing needs, offering advice and suggestions to help them select the perfect framing solutions.

Materials Selection: Gain an understanding of different materials, mats, glass, and other accessories used in custom framing.

Operate Equipment: Use framing equipment and tools, such as saws, mat cutters, and frame assembly tools, ensuring all work is done safely and efficiently.

Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet our quality standards and make any necessary adjustments or corrections.

Maintain a Clean Workspace: Keep the framing area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.

Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with the latest framing techniques and trends to provide our customers with innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (recent school leaver).

A strong passion for art, creativity, and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Willingness to learn and take direction.

Ability to work as part of a team and independently.

A positive and enthusiastic attitude.

Must have the right to work in Australia or be eligible for an apprenticeship visa

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials up to 15kg

Strong numeracy skills and ability to work with measurements and calculations

Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for detailed craftwork
