The Senior Public Relations & Communications Officer will play a vital role in shaping and delivering impactful communication strategies within the not-for-profit sector. Based in East Perth, this temporary position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution while showcasing your expertise in public relations and communications.

Description

  • Develop and execute strategic communication plans aligned with organisational goals.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, media statements, and other public relations materials.
  • Manage relationships with media outlets and respond to media inquiries.
  • Coordinate internal and external communications to ensure consistency in messaging.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to produce engaging content across digital and traditional platforms.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and suggest improvements.
  • Support event planning and promotional activities to enhance public engagement.
  • Ensure all communications align with the organisation's values and objectives.

Profile

A successful applicant should have:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in public relations, media liaison, or communications roles.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the not-for-profit industry and its unique communication needs.
  • Experience working with remote Indigenous communities highly regarded.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, including social media.
