The Tennant Creek Women's Refuge (TCWR) is a not-for-profit, local charity, and the only DFSV specialist service committed to assisting and enabling women and children experiencing domestic and family violence across Tennant Creek and the Barkly.

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Outreach Team Leader to coordinate our outreach service, which provides critical support to women and children experiencing family violence, including those unable to access crisis accommodation.
This leadership role oversees a dedicated team of case workers, ensuring the delivery of consistent, high-quality services and fostering a positive, professional team culture.
You and your team will work with clients facing a diverse range of challenges, including grief and loss, violence and abuse, parenting concerns, stress, anxiety, separation, and the impacts of intergenerational trauma.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the outreach service, including staff supervision, rostering, and team meetings.
Provide line management, support, and coaching to staff, fostering professional development and resilience.
Ensure the delivery of strength-based case management, safety planning, and risk assessments.
Support clients in building independence, safety, and community participation.
Participate in all FSF and SupportLink obligations as a TCWR representative, working closely with the Refuge Team Leader to meet client coordination needs.
Demonstrate sound judgment and respond appropriately in crisis and emergency situations.
Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to strengthen community partnerships.
Ensure compliance with contractual, service delivery, and reporting requirements.
Participate in staff training and development, and support direct reports to do the same.
Contribute to organisational goals through accurate reporting, program coordination, and effective service management.
Undertake any other duties as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Demonstrated experience in family violence, community services, or related fields.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to support, supervise and inspire a team.
Experience in case management, crisis intervention, and safety planning.
Cultural competence and an ability to work respectfully alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Essential Skills:
Demonstrated experience working with women and children affected by domestic violence
Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and practices
Understanding of cultural considerations when working with Indigenous communities
Key Competencies:
Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
Risk assessment and safety planning experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse clients
