Makibe Australia are seeking a qualified Mechanic to join our client’s team in Appin. This role offers a mix of workshop-based work with the opportunity to travel across Australia for breakdown activities once trained.

About the Role

In this hands-on position, you’ll be involved in engine reconditioning, equipment preparation, and on-site servicing. Typical duties include:

Assessing parts for reuse and reconditioning engines and other equipment

Preparing and painting engines for dispatch

Assisting with engine removal and installation on-site

Travelling to sites across Australia for breakdown activities (after training)

General workshop housekeeping

Following all WHS obligations and company policies

📍 Hours: 6:30am – 3:00pm, Monday to Friday
⏱ Overtime available

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

Trade qualification as a Mechanic (essential)

Experience in diesel/gas engine repair or reconditioning (highly desirable)

Knowledge of Caterpillar, Deutz, Jenbacher, or other large-capacity engines (advantageous)

Basic computer literacy

Current driver’s licence and reliable transport

Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol test

Clear police record and ability to pass a national police check

Flexibility to work overtime as required
